Margaret Doyle

Margaret has worked in regional theatres from Victoria to to San Diego where she honed her storytelling skills and learned to craft narrative on stage and the written page. She took her directing and design skills into her own business where she began designing and manufacturing for the hospitality industry. Working from brand conceptualization to product manufacturing with fulfillment and logistics spanning the globe, she has an innate understanding of the process and implementation of brand messaging. Having had many years of entrepreneur experience, Margaret took an exceptional opportunity to work with the young and evolving School of Tourism and Hospitality Management at Royal Roads University, where she used emergent technology to develop international networks and deliver digital literacy education to interns in the Bachelor of Arts in International Hotel Management program. What resulted was a world-class internship program known for its innovation in digital literacy and for producing the best interns in the tourism and hospitality industry. Margaret then moved into full-time consulting helping business' find their message and tell their stories across multiple platforms. Coaching and mentoring is integral to her approach with clients, and she is thrilled to see success from campaigns she has designed that used digtial storytelling that had purpose and results.

More recently, Margaret accepted the position of Digital Storyteller at the University of British Columbia, a new capacity for the university which she is thrilled to be helping develop. Her area of interest and research continues to be transmedia and the role story plays in transforming communities.
