Mahendra P. "MP" Gupta is a real estate development entrepreneur with extensive business experience and deep ties in the Indian-American community in Fort Lauderdale. He has lived in south Florida for more than 25 years and has established himself as a leader in business, community service, and philanthropy.

Mahendra P. Gupta began his education in Rajasthan, India, and at age 14 was the youngest graduate in his high school class in 1960. He began his college studies focusing on science, mathematics and engineering at Maharaja's College in Kerala, India, before completing a Bachelor of Science in Engineering at the Indian School of Mines. He was awarded the Rajasthan Merit Scholarship during all four years of his coursework.

After earning Board certification as an Associate Member of the Institute of Engineers and beginning a professional engineering career in India, Mahendra P. Gupta decided to continue his education at Columbia University in New York City. He earned a Master's degree in Engineering in 1971 and worked in professional positions in mining and corporate management for several years. His career took him to Ohio, Indiana, and West Virginia.

After many successful years in the mining industry, Mahendra P. Gupta changed the direction of his career and moved to south Florida to build a life of philanthropy and entrepreneurship. While his work focuses on real estate development, he has also become a leader in the Indian-American community. Gupta is a Founding Trustee and Benefactor of the South Florida Hindu Temple, which gives the Hindu residents in the area a central place to celebrate their spiritual traditions. He has sponsored and encouraged dozens of Indian relatives and friends to establish successful lives in the United States.
