Mahinda Vilathgamuwa

Greetings, I’m Mahinda Vilathgamuwa. I’m a professor of power engineering at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Brisbane QLD, Australia. Before moving to QUT in 2014, I was attached to the School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore as an academic for 20 years.

I pursue research and development work on Li-ion battery modeling and control, wireless power transfer systems, renewable power systems, and power electronics. I have been carrying out research work with industry partners such as Rolls Royce and Panasonic and received numerous research grants.

I am also an active volunteer for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (IEEE), particularly for Power Electronics, Industry Applications, and Industrial Electronics Societies.
