Mahlatsi Makhaya
Student, Teacher, and Small Business Owner in Johannesburg south africa
I am a dedicated third-year Education student at the University of Johannesburg, specializing in Business Management and addressing of neurodevelopmental learning needs. My academic journey is driven by a passion for inclusivity, lifelong learning and equipping learners with both practical skills and equitable access to education.
My specialization in Business Management allows me to explore entrepreneurship, financial literacy and problem-solving as important tools for preparing learners to thrive in a dynamic economy. At the same timemy focus on neurodevelopmental learning needs shows my commitment to creating classrooms where every learner regardless of ability can succeed. I believe that education should empower learners to build confidence, independence and resilience while also preparing them to contribute meaningfully to society.
As a lifelong learner I continuously seek opportunities to expand my knowledge and skills. Beyond education I am deeply interested in pursuing further studies in finance with the goal of bridging the gap between pedagogy and commerce.
I thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working on group projects that encourage diverse perspectives and innovative solutions. My academic journey has also been enriched by short learning programmes in Artificial Intelligence and MS Excel for the Workplace which have strengthened my digital literacy and ability to adapt to modern teaching and professional contexts.
My mission is to inspire learners to view education as a pathway to empowerment.
