Mahmoud Alashry

Mahmoud Alashry is a Blogger, Doctor, and Researcher currently living in Brooklyn, NY, USA. His interests range from reading, writing, and innovative technology in cardiovascular medicine. Mahmoud Alashry is also interested in medical education. Mahmoud Alashry graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, Suez Canal University, Egypt, in 2010. He then started his Medical Internship at the University Teaching Hospital. Afterward, he joined cardiovascular residency at the Suez Canal University Teaching hospitals. Suez Canal University Hospitals are extremely busy medical (700-bed) facilities. It provides both secondary and tertiary health care for the Eastern part of the country (5 governorates). The cardiology depteratment has got 14 CCU beds & 24 beds for in-patient care. The non-invasive service includes stress EKG, Holter EKG, echocardiography lab where trans-thoracic, TEE & Dobutamine stress echo exams are performed daily. The Dept. also has two Cath labs where diagnostic procedures and complex coronary interventions are done (total 1000 cases/year). During his training, he contributed to the teaching of medical students, nurses & technicians. During his work, Dr. Mahmoud has shown respectable manners towards his colleagues, seniors, and nursing staff. He has excellent communication skills with his patients. Mahmoud always shows dedication to his patients and educational duties. In 2014, he moved to the United States to join the Echocardiography Research Lab at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. His main research interest was developing novel modalities to assess cardiac stiffness using Echocardiography. The new technology works by measuring the speed of wave propagation in the heart muscle during diastole. He succeeded in publishing his work several articles in multiple cardiology medical journals and scientific conferences.
