I am a journalist, editor, material writer, media trainer and academic researcher in the field of media and linguistics. I have a long and varied experience working as print, online and broadcast journalist, as well as media trainer. I can offer insights drawn from my experiences in media and training for more than 13 years. I love reading, writing and teaching.
After I got my BA in English Language & Literature in 2000, I started my career as a copy editor at Al-Ahram Center for Translation and Publishing on 2001. I worked as a freelance editor with many news agencies and broadcast entities. I publish opinion article in the daily Al-Ahram. In 2006, I added a new track to my career which is teaching editing and translation. In 2009, I got my master degree in linguistics and translation. In 2011, I submitted a Ph.D. proposal titled “Domestication versus Foreignization in Arabic Media Localization”.
My MA dissertation together with my PhD proposal and other articles focus on the changes that Arabic language has witnessed in modern age and the effect of mistranslations on conceptual cognitive map. My recent book, published in 2011, includes highly effective tips on editing skills for translated and original texts.
