Mai Pham is one of the most active food and travel journalists in Houston today. Graduating with department honors in English from UCLA, she currently freelances for publications such as Houston Press, My Table Magazine, Examiner.com, Houston Chronicle, and 002 Magazine. Online, she has been the number one reviewer for Citysearch Houston since 2011, serving as an expert Citysearch scout, where she has contributed more than 400 micro reviews.

Pham currently serves as a Houston-based correspondent for Forbes Travel Guide.

In 2011, she began contributing as a freelance TV journalist, shooting on-site news segments at local restaurants for feature in a prime-time news segment on KRIV Fox 26, “Houston Bloggers.” Her story, “Cuisine Fresh Off the Farm,” was picked up by Fox’s national network and rebroadcast via their online channels.

More recently, Pham was asked to take her turn as a food critic for the Houston Press. In addition, she has contributed in an editorial capacity for the Houston Press Web Awards and the Houston Press Best Of issue, and the Houston Press Menu of Menus.

Pham was also cited in NPR’s (National Public Radio) feature story, "In Houston, Diversity You Can Sink Your Teeth Into." She is regarded as a local food expert in Houston, and is often called upon to judge local food competitions.
