Maia was born & raised in the deep woods of Vermont. Growing up she was influenced by the creative explorations of her parents and their contemporaries, including a community of cartoonists & writers who revolutionized comics in the early eighties. As an anolog artist, she works primarily with markers, archival pens, brush & ink, pencil, watercolor, charcoal, oil paints & gouache. Working professionally as a Marketing Coordinator, Photographer and Graphic Designer, Maia offers a broad skillset and hopes to start her own business with Web Developer & partner in crime, Mattsterp {aka Matthew Peters}. She writes & illustrates for her own amusement, mostly, though plans to develop self published works and gallery collections in the near, dear future {stay tuned!}. In her free time she enjoys photography, collage, fashion & music, with a focus on combining synthesis & vocals using Ableton Live and Maschine 2. She currently resides in Southern VT with the Love of her life & their cat, Okami.
