We think email can be so useful you actually love opening it every day. So beautiful it turns heads when you're using it at a coffee shop. That's the inspiration behind the redesigned AOL Mail. We're seeking a UX Design Intern to help us take AOL Mail to the next level on web, tablets and smart phones!

You'll apply your creative super powers to shape a fast-paced, big-league product - the largest user base of all our applications and one of the top email products in the US! You have a sharp mind with an emphatic soul and you love crafting usable and delightful experiences. You should be familiar with...

* Applying UCD processes to design intuitive user flows, wireframes, and detailed interaction designs

* Creating rapid prototypes to test with consumers and integrate feedback through an iterative process

* Crafting stellar experiences that elegantly balance product and business requirements* Employing user research methodologies to validate your designs

Here's what we're looking for...

* A portfolio demonstrating your best work

* Pursuing a degree in Design, Computer Human Interaction or a related field

* Proficient with Illustrator, Omnigraffle, Visio, Photoshop or comparable software tools

* Strong understanding of basic UCD methodology. You should be comfortable going out into the world for inspiration and know how to validate your designs

* Experience creating detailed wireframes and flowcharts

* Ability to take initiative and collaborate

* Strong writing and organization skills

* Strong prototyping and layout skills and an eye for color & typography
