Mai Spann

Mai Spann is an activist, rapper, singer-songwriter, pianist, published poet, record producer, and social worker.

Mai Spann has 7+ years facilitating workshops that empower youth and their families. As a facilitator he specializes in conflict resolution, creative expression, and personal development. These workshops include topics such as "The Current State of Hip-Hop, Male Role Models, Expression Through Poetry, Resolving Conflict, Anger Management, etc. He has made it his personal mission to inspire people worldwide through transformational engagement and empowerment through his artistry.

Mai Spann's first studio album "On The Other Side" is set for release September 20th 2013. "On The Other Side" is not just an album but also a movement! This album was created out of conversation Mai had with a youth he mentored who stated "I'm tired of seeing the same four blocks...I want to see something different...I want to see a waterfall." This experience inspired Mai to start a nationwide movement that would take urban youth out of their daily environment and expose them to a beautiful and easily accessible area of their city that they never visited before. Look for the "On The Other Side Movement" to take place in the near future.
