sheila maina
Sheila Maina was born and raised in Nairobi and moved to Pickerington, OH during her early years. She is currently a fourth year majoring in Nutrition health sciences. Her leadership and involvement at Ohio State has included Buckeye Leadership Fellows, ALDPES, AYL and college mentors, among others. She has served as a Resident Advisor, as well as a former undergraduate research fellow at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. She recently held an internship with the James Comprehensive Cancer Center and volunteered with the Columbus literacy council. Her growing passion to educate young girls serves as a motivation and she hopes to continue to remain engaged in this service in the future. Upon graduation Sheila plans to pursue a career in the health field and hopes to travel the world and deliver innovative medical development to third world countries.
