Hello, I’m Maira, founder and the owner of Art Playdate!

Besides being an Art Educator and Sensory Play facilitator, I am a certified Brain Gym® programme facilitator, and a mother to 3 amazing girls.

I graduated with a BA (Hons) in Fine Arts and has a Diploma in Painting. I am a member of Singapore Contemporary Young Artist (SCYA), a certified Art Educator with National Arts Council (NAC-SEED Institute and NAC-NIEI), MOE and an AMIS registered Art Educator. I love to study, learn about holistic children development and honouring child developmental stages.

I have 14 years of experience which includes working in art studios as well as extended my teaching to Preschools, Primary schools, Pathlight School, Secondary Schools, Junior Colleges and adults (Teachers' Training and Art trainers).

My experience includes developing visual arts programmes for schools as well as developed Programme Active Learning (PAL) in Visual Arts for schools with IP rights.

Besides being certified by National Arts Council (NAC) in creating, training and teaching visual art programmes for schools, I am also experienced in process-based, play-based learning and believes in the Reggio Emilia approach of 'The Hundred Languages of Children', where we practise an emergent curriculum with our Homeschooling Co-op in Homeschool Singapore.

I believe in an inclusive setting with a strong disposition to sensory learning for the 'Whole Child' and the power of play.
