Well it al started 12 years ago, where by accident i ended up working for an event decorating company, mainly working balloons. From that we started getting asked to do flowers, so i trained in floristry and found i have a real love and flair for it but its a hard industry to be in with lots of competition and also with not a lot of scope for letting my creativity flow (the brides round here have no imagination!!)
One day i was at another boring hum drum exhibition, where a lady that i had just met that night was exhibiting her beautiful dresses, real works of art. As the models were getting ready to go onto the catwalk i went to hand some of my floral bouquets to them to take on stage, only to be knocked back as the "flowers may mark the dress" and it was then i had my epiphany.....what would a bride use if she wasn't using flowers???? that very second i pulled my notebook out my bag and started to draw, the ideas came flowing quick and fast to the point i had to be asked to pack up and leave because the exhibition had finished, everyone had gone home and i was still sitting spewing out ideas onto the page. The rest is history. Now i can create endless wild ideas, use any kind of medium to the point sometimes my eyes get sore as i can only see materials and not things!!
My brides fill me full of ideas and inspiration too and i get asked the wildest requests from shells, to road kill, to sherbet flying saucers, so please feel free to challenge me.
In my spare time (which i really don't have much of) i like to knit, sew, hang out with my family and staffordshire bull terrier "Tinkerbell", cook, play Roller Derby, camping and music festivals.
My dislikes are rude, grumpy people, early mornings and water in my wellies.
Thank you for taking the time.
