Maithreyi Shankar

I am an Indian-American girl, born in Bombay, raised in Singapore, and educated in the United States. I am a proud New Englander, and an Angeleno. I studied Neuroscience at the University of Southern California. (FIGHT ON!) I also deeply believe in community development and social change -- at the age of sixteen, my first job was blogging for the84.org, a Massachusetts-centered youth against teen-smoking movement. In the age of the internet, a single friendly voice can have a lot of impact. I aspire to be a "hurricane of eloquence" and a source of infectious hope, especially in the fields of education and neuroscience.
