Makayla Hurst

Hello! I’m Makayla, a Substitute Teacher in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I am a passionate educator with a unique background working with people of all ages and abilities in various contexts. Besides education, my academic pursuits have included History and Indigenous Studies. I am passionate about decolonizing education, and reconciliation through education. I love spending time in the outdoors and am excited about inspiring students to be change makers in their communities and engaging them in schooling through STEM and the arts. I aspire to have a full time classroom, but in the mean time am enjoying working with a variety of students and school communities. I look forward to the opportunity to work with your students.
