Malaika Edwards

I am a recent graduate from an engineering technology program at McMaster University, which has awakened the innovative and creative nature in me. I hope to apply the knowledge and techniques I have learned during my academic years to create or contribute to the creation of a product that will make a positive impact in people’s lives.

Outside of engineering and school, I enjoy traveling and going on new exciting adventures to experience the extraordinary. To date, I have had the opportunity to visit the Mayan Ruins in Cozumel, Mexico; Harrison’s Cave in Barbados; the Pitons and the Sulphur Springs in St. Lucia and I am looking forward to visiting many more natural wonders. I also have an appreciation for landscape and architectural photography. Nature is an artist, its artwork is flawless and we simply capture it. Two photographers can take pictures of the same scenery but create two completely different images - it amazes me each time. It’s all about perspective.

I believe we all have something to offer despite our circumstances and it is our outlook on life that will make a difference. By my life and the decisions I make, my wish is to inspire at least one individual to continue their journey and their beautiful story we call life, regardless of the challenges they may face.
