Malaika Ray
Licensed Massage Therapist in Washington, DC
Serving Upper Northwest DC, Georgetown, Downtown DC, and Bethesda
Hi, I’m Malaika—a DC-licensed massage therapist focused on helping clients reduce pain, manage stress, improve mobility, and move through life with greater ease. My work blends evidence-informed massage techniques, somatic movement principles, and trauma-informed bodywork with attentive, client-centered care to support physical recovery and overall well-being.
Massage therapy is a second career for me, shaped by a strong interest in how stress, trauma, posture, injury, and repetitive movement patterns affect the body. I tailor each session to the client’s goals, comfort level, and therapeutic needs, with an emphasis on thoughtful assessment, clear communication, consent, and nervous-system awareness.
I completed my clinical training at Potomac Massage Training Institute (PMTI) and have additional training in trigger point therapy, sports massage, myofascial release, somatic movement, and trauma-informed bodywork. I am currently pursuing advanced education in Manual Lymphatic Drainage, scar tissue therapy, and rehabilitative techniques.
Clients often describe my work as focused, responsive, and effective—using firm pressure where appropriate and gentler techniques when the body needs a more gradual approach. I value professionalism, discretion, consistency, and creating an environment where clients feel respected, heard, and actively involved in their care.
I provide mobile massage therapy throughout Upper Northwest Washington, DC, Georgetown, Downtown DC, and Bethesda, and work best with clients who view regular bodywork as an important part of caring for their health.
