I started working in media and communications planning in advertising agencies. I worked for JWT Amsterdam, Leo Burnett Amsterdam and then Leo Burnett London. I switched to McCann-Erickson London and eventually McCann's in New York.

I then became an Integrated Marketer, working for The Coca-Cola Company in Japan and Germany. For my sins I ended up at The Coca-Cola Company's corporate headquarters in Atlanta.

After 10+ years I switched from soft-drinks to beer and joined Anheuser Busch-InBev on the day they opened their new headquarters in NY in September of 2009.

In 2013 I launched my own marketing consultancy, which I folded into Flock Associates in 2014. Today, I am very proud of what Flock Associates has become: the leading marketing transformation consultancy serving a who's who of global marketing driven brands.

I am also advising a small selection of start-ups, and have seen them succeed and fail (you know who you are).

I am a frequent contributor to events like The Festival of Media, DMexco and SxSW, and delivered training to senior executives at Stanford University, EGTA, ANA and the World Federation of Advertisers. I am the co-author of the book “Z.E.R.O., zero paid media as the new marketing model” (Wiley, October 2013) with Joseph Jaffe, and I write for MediaPost's "Media Insider".
