...for we possess nothing certainly except the past... Evelyn Waugh.
I am a freelance historical researcher who undertakes all kinds of research on any period: current projects range from the Anglo-Saxon to the contemporary period, so dates are certainly not a barrier. I have experience of library, field and archival research. In the past I’ve looked at country houses, churches, police forces and street literature for public and private sector clients. Based in Leicester, most places are within easy reach and I am happy to travel. No kind of history is uninteresting to me, so please get in touch. I will be delighted help you unearth whatever part of the past you seek, quickly and to immaculate professional standards.
My background includes extensive research training, including quantitative and qualities research methods, early modern palaeography, advanced bibliography, and experience of dozens of archives and libraries. I am currently completing my PhD on Edinburgh’s Common Good Fund c.1820-1856, so am always happy to be in the past.
