For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Krista. I live in a small town called Berovo, located in the southeast of Macedonia – a relatively small country you’ll find on the Balkan Peninsula.
I’m an ethno musician, interested in promoting traditional Macedonian music, with a focus on wind instruments and contemporary Macedonian genres as they relate to ethno and traditional dances.
I enjoy discovering Macedonia and the beauty of this country wins me over and over. The formidable mountain terrain is my favorite destination in Macedonia, but I also enjoy the Ohrid region, and the monastery complexes located in the southwest.
I have a true interest in Macedonian jewelry as well, and try to recreate works of art in my spare time. So far, I’ve only managed to put together a necklace of Ohrid pearls, but I hope I will one day be able to recreate a filigree pendant as they are crafted around the southwest of Macedonia.
