Malfunktion started spinning under his own name Mark Myrick in ‘96 after purchasing a used pair of 1200’s. Heavily influenced at the time by legends like Armand Van Helden, Sneak, and DJ Dan, he began playing house, and soon after speed garage.

In 2001 he started CT’s first drum and bass/breaks night at Funktion nightclub in New Haven, of which he was also a weekly resident. Hugely successful and lasting nearly 2 years, he played alongside such legends as Dara, Soulslinger, Atomic Hooligan, and others as well as slew of well-known local talent, such as Sonic Bee, Eskmo, Dat Funky Drumma, Oneself, and many more from the New England area.

Having evolved once more and playing under the moniker Malfunktion, he plays a mix of slammin' electro, nu disco and tech house. He keeps dance floors moving with his impeccable track selection, seamless blends, and high-energy performances. As much a dancer as a dj, he feels each beat and it shows when he’s behind the decks.
