I. Malik Saafir

I. Malik Saafir is the President and Founder of Janus Institute For Justice (Little Rock, AR). Janus advances environmental and social justice through education, engagement and empowerment. Malik trains advocates and activists how to interpret, translate and apply theories of justice through environmental and social justice projects. He holds a Master of Divinity (M. Div.) from Vanderbilt University where he was awarded the Kelly Miller Smith Scholar and graduated with honors.

Malik has devoted his career to the study of the intersection between religion, ethics, and culture seeking to end racial, economic and health disparities in low-income communities. He currently serves as President of the Board of Directors for Village Commons. He also serves on the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, Institute for Race and Ethnicity Steering Committee.

Malik is a GreenFaith Fellow and Toyota TogetherGreen Fellow.
