Greetings!

My name is Malissa Martin and I'm a freelance writer living in the Metro Detroit area. I've written for several publications including: The Oakland Press Newspaper, Lake Union Herald Magazine, Detroit Hair Designer Magazine, Parkview Magazine, Ferndale Friends, and many more. I also write a blog titled People You Should Know on my website www.malissathewriter.com. The blog, which is updated on Sundays, features industry leaders that are separating themselves from the pack and striving to make their mark on the world.

In addition to blogging and freelance writing, I'm also teach public speaking at Wayne County Community College District.

I have a B.A. in electronic media and print journalism from Oakwood University in Huntsville, AL and a M.A. in journalism from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI.
