Maliza has been involved in social media on all levels from 2006, and experienced some of the most dynamic shifts in social convergence in South Africa since then.

As Managing Director of SoMoLo Communications, it is her main goal to assist brands and businesses in the understanding of their local competitive market, and how to engage with their audience on all social and digital levels.
Her career in social media began in the FMCG ecommerce market, and quickly diversified within media and radio, digital agencies, traditional agencies whilst servicing prestige brands and clients.

It is the latter market, however, that inspired her strategic positioning of research based social strategy, within the various dynamic markets and sectors within South Africa.

“I believe, although audiences are dynamically crossed, each audience for each brand requires deep research and analysis to identify not only trends and merging conversational topics, but also holds the key to how people engage. Understanding these patterns can allow brands to talk to audiences, in a way that will shape brand perceptions and increase KPI’s of all campaigns.” she says.

She has recently also opened up SoMoLo communications to global campaigns, serving communities as far as Singapore and Dubai with Community Management, Strategic Development, Research and Analysis and Social PR and Publicising.
