Mallory Brock

I am a Kansas City native with a background in journalism and marketing. My extended family includes several nurses, and I've always admired the profession but thought of myself as a writer and editor. When I took a job as a copywriter for a large health care information technology company several years ago, I had the pleasure of interacting with doctors and nurses on a frequent basis.

In telling their stories, I began to picture myself in their shoes and realized that I was envious of the life-saving and life-changing nature of the work they do. I also saw the endless possibilities for continuing education and scientific advances in health care. I knew then that I wanted to return to school to pursue a bachelor's degree in nursing.

I am married and have a 2-year-old son. In my free time, I love spending time with my family, being outdoors, reading and photography.
