Malory Dowdle
Malory Dowdle is a driven and accomplished integrative public relations student at Central Michigan University. She is hoping to combine her career passion with her devotion to advocating for people with disabilities. Though she has a very specific goal, Dowdle has gained a variety of different experiences throughout her education and professional aspirations.
During a summer job in a corporate business office, Dowdle was able to communicate with people from all around the world and gain valuable experience in marketing, event planning and public relations. This opportunity sparked her interest in the IPR program at CMU and gave her an inside look into the corporate side of the profession. Dowdle enjoys being able to take the skills she gained from this job and utilize them in her education and career endeavors.
Though she was eager to gain more experience in a corporate setting, Dowdle’s passion for people with disabilities brought her to Spring Hill Camps last summer. She was able to work one-on-one with people with special needs and truly understand the obstacles that they have to overcome on a daily basis. This experience inspired Dowdle to become an advocate for people with disabilities and change the way she was living her life entirely.
Currently, she is doing promotions for the David Garcia Project, an on campus organization dedicated to promoting awareness for people with disabilities. Dowdle is also an active member of the Public Relations Student Society of America and the Professional Development Committee within the organization. This summer she will work as a marketing and event planning intern at Spring Hill Camps.
