Matthew Gregory
Data Scientist in London, United Kingdom
A capable and self-motivated data scientist with a background in the biological sciences and education. I’m keen to explore data and to use cutting-edge statistical techniques, including Machine Learning algorithms, to make reproducible, robust and actionable insights from the data.
I'm a qualified teacher which helps me translate complex ideas and communicate with stakeholders, ensuring project success.
I completed a PhD in Genetic Engineering at the University of Oxford where I developed my penchant for statistics, programming and the scientific method.
I transitioned to Data Science through a year at the DfE and currently two years at the Government Digital Service.
Recently I've worked on GOV.UK, developing our A/B testing framework to analyse Big Query user journey data. My team is improving navigation on the site through the use of algorithms to recommend content to users.
