I am an Oral & Maxillofacial Pathologist & Microbiologist with 20 years of experience.I also hold post graduate Diplomas in Hospital & Health Care management & Medicolegal systems.
My first research project was my dissertation “An in vitro comparison of cariogenicity of aspartame and sugar”. My choice of topic was influenced by the interest I developed in dental Caries early on in the course.
While Dental Caries still remains of immense interest to me, I have diverted a significant amount of my research activities to oral precancer and cancer. These largely preventable diseases cause considerable disability and human suffering not only to patient but to their entire family, both emotionally and economically.
I love teaching and became a teacher soon after completing BDS in 1992. I still find the time I spend with students to be thoroughly enjoyable and enriching.
I enjoy organizing and attending scientific events and hold membership of 9 national & international professional associations.
A keen interest in research has helped me author and co-author over 60 papers, a book , oral & poster presentations in national & international conferences and journals apart from serving as a editorial board member and referee on national & international journals.
I strongly believe in social duties and therefore, actively support WWF,
