Mandy Leith

Victoria, BC

Born into a long line of Ulster storytellers, I'm a digital media producer and social marketing specialist. I help creators, leaders and activists to plant, cultivate and maintain their media impact gardens, using cross-platform stories to inspire and engage. My work pollinates the intersection of documentary filmmaking, social media, community building and social change.

I'm also the founder and program director of OPEN CINEMA, a non-profit program that screens documentaries followed by discussion with invited guests in cafe style venues. This popular community event is now evolving into an innovative social enterprise startup CONNECT THE DOCS: for documentary audiences, filmmakers, cinema hosts and impact partners who are struggling with changing viewing habits, CONNECT THE DOCS is an online networking hub that combines the best of live and online cinema.

When I'm not writing on my laptop, posting on Instagram or watching old movies, I can be found camping in my VW westfalia (aka the #DocBus), swimming in freshwater lakes and drinking tea.
