Mandy Macklin

Dr. Mandy Macklin (she/her) is Writing Center Director at the University of Washington. She specializes in composition studies, qualitative research, and writing program administration. Dr. Macklin earned her Ph.D. (Language & Rhetoric) at the University of Washington, as well as her M.A. (Rhetoric & Composition) and B.A. (English Literature) from California State University, Northridge. Dr. Macklin's research focuses on the dynamic and unpredictable pathways students inhabit, create, and traverse as they encounter and make their way through writing tasks, especially what is lost or set aside in negotiating and translating across contexts, genres, and modalities.
