Hey, My name is Manee Warren. As I write this bio, I find myself thinking of who I am. In our lives, there are many situations where we are expected to know who we are or what we want to do, which is incredibly challenging.
For example, if I were to apply for a job, I couldn't just say that I have no idea what I want to be doing. We live in a world where we are often forced to find 'who we are' and build upon it. For many people, including myself, this can be difficult.
When we look at this type of question, our go to answer is something that is conditioned by society as 'acceptable.' But just because it's what society considers to be 'normal' doesn't mean that it's what we want to do - so we become stuck in this narrow-minded methodology that says we must conform to society.
As you can probably deduce, I completely disagree with conformity. I believe in standing out, showing our creativity and expressing our individualty the way WE want to.
All this isn't to say that people who find themselves loving something that society considers to be normal should change what they do, what I mean to convey is that I believe in self expression.
A good friend of mine once told me that there is no definitive definition for the word normal. What this means is, the underlying meaning of the word normal will vary for everyone.
At the beginning of this bio, I said that I was thinking about who I thought I was. What I love to do to pass time may change over the years, but what I believe will always be present in how I express myself.
I believe in self expression. Individualism. Creativity. Learning. Honesty. Responsibility. Integrity. Feminism. Equality. Human Rights.
I hold myself accountable for my actions and always ask myself whether or not my values are in line with my decisions. I hope this also helped inspire you to go out and find what you believe in and stand up for it. If we really want to live, we can't be afraid to stand out.
I also like waffles.
