Author, poet, translator and nature lover.

An earlier novel, Come, Before Evening Falls, was shortlisted for the prestigious Hindu Literary Prize in 2010, and a collection of my short stories published as Another Man’s Wife also made the Hindu Literary Prize shortlist in 2013. In Search of Heer (2019) was listed for the JCB and several other prizes.
I have translated the poetry of Bulleh Shah in The Book of Bullah and the work of Meera Bai, in The Songs of Meera as part of my mystic poets series.
I have also written Elbie’s Quest and Nargisa’s Adventures, the first two books of my Rangeeli Duniya series for children.
I worked in the development and environment sector for many years.
