Manuel Ferreira, B. Sc., D. Ch.

Hi There!

My name is Manuel Ferreira and I am a Doctor of Chiropody - that means I treat feet. Well, anything from the hip down, I guess...whether it's gait problems, knee issues or more traditional foot problems. I love helping patients who have not found success through other means to finally become pain-free - and I hope that my bedside manner is something I'm remembered for as well!!

When I'm not working, I enjoy a variety of sports...cycling being number one. I still get that "weeeeeeee!" feeling when I'm on a bike and love going to new places with "Precious". I also play a lot of squash, tennis, volleyball and badminton, and in the winter can usually be found on the trails at Duntroon Highlands Nordic in Duntroon, doing some cross-country skiing. When I can, I like to run (usually with my 3-year old German Schlep, Gunner). In 2010, I competed in the Boston Marathon..and am planning to go back and beat my personal best.

My best gal, Lia, and I also own a Shetland/Welsh pony named Clarabelle, a Dearded Dragon who goes by the name "Dracco" and a fish called Miso (no, not Wanda). When we're not working, apart from the above, we're usually having fun up at our cottage near Parry Sound...or exploring new places in the States.

Recently, Lia introduced me to slopitch as well and we are both HUGE Detroit Tigers fans...very very sad about the 4-game World Series sweep. :-(

Oh, and as a HUGE soccer fan, I'm usually cheering on Manchester United in the EPL. Or Porto. I can hardly wait for Rio 2014....!!
