Emmanuel Fray aka Grinzo, born August 7th 1990 in North York, Canada, raised in Rexdale with his older brother who goes by the name of Novakency,Grew up with his younger sister and mother. At a young age, Grinzo has been playing piano, taught by his mother who is a piano teacher. His mother went to York University for music and was taught by Oscar Peterson, she has been teaching ever since Grinzo was born. Grinzo grew up listening to his father’s successful R&B gospel group, Selections. They were nominated for a Juno Award in 1999 for the best Urban Gospel Group and won the 2001 Urban Music Award for the best Urban Gospel Group in Canada. Grinzo has come from a musical family and took it up a notch at the age of 15 with his urban sound of rap and vocals and writing music by himself, with his dad, Fraycat, and a couple friends that he is still in contact with. Grinzo played in a band at church called Revelation and he also played piano and sang for the main church choir. Grinzo is now writing, and producing his own songs, and songs for his Team, but he is also aspiring to work with other artists as a successful producer/Artist. Fraycat, his dad, is a producer and has a commercial studio in Bermuda and has also set up a studio in Toronto for Grinzo to work out of and learn the ins and outs of recording and engineering. Fortunately because of Grinzo’s musical background, he has learned to produce instrumentals at an early age and has now enabled Grinzo to write songs with ease. He writes mainly Reality Music, because of where he grew up, (Rexdale) but he’s also writing music that will hopefully appeal to a mass audience. As for now he's trying to elevate his mind towards more Positive music and lifestyle. Listening to favorite producers like Swiss Beats and artists, such as Nas to Lauryn Hill, has inspired Grinzo to become one of the more innovative and inventive artists and songwriters. Listen out for Grinzo, because this is the beginning of a new experience.
