The vision of an artist to teach creative thinking:
Prof Shashikant Gawali graduated in Applied art from Raheja school of art and J J School of art, Mumbai. For him the passion and joy of life is creative work. He is a passionate painter, an award winner applied artist, a creative thinker and a devoted art educationist who specializes in teaching creative thinking. With the experience of 20 years in teaching applied art & graphic design he pioneered a unique art school like the ones that are abroad. He founded ‘Manthan school of creative advertising and art’ in Mumbai/Pune in 2003.
The school offers unique courses in advertising, creative visualization, graphic design and design softwares. The syllabus empowers the students from art and non art background to think creatively and succeed in a highly creative and paying career in advertising. The school teaches students a strong portfolio, no typical exams., by a Gurukul format
Today his students are working as creative directors, visualizers, illustrators, photographers in top ad agencies in Mumbai, and abroad.
He has also formed the NGO, Manthan art foundation a of group of devoted creative professionals in advertising, films, education with the profound urge who dream for the better society.
The foundation endeavors to achieve this by throwing light upon social issues, offering solutions, motivation for the better society-by way of events, competitions, workshops, exhibitions in a creative action – directed way.
Doodle ad fest 2016- A competition of social ads/adfilms for India.
This event comprises of a the pioneering competition of print ads and ad films conveying an effective message on social issues. They are judged by eminent ad gurus. Awards are given to the winners, an exhibition is held. Its the 4th year of the event. It has received enthusiastic response from students and professional all over India. He has more dreams in the store awaiting,,,
