Responsible for ensuring sufficient, efficient and secure services for physics and LHC running. This includes providing development, support and maintenance of the range of tools and infrastructure needed to manage the configuration of CERN owned Linux-based Computing Resources: Private and Commercial Clouds as well as Desktops. We use Puppet to manage all computing infrastructure throughout its life-cycle, from provisioning and configuration to patch management and compliance. CERN's Private Cloud is based on OpenStack, to provide scalable, elastic cloud computing resources. We also run the CERN Enterprise Search Engine service based on ElasticSearch which provides a distributed, multitenant-capable full-text search engine with an HTTP web interface and schema-free JSON documents.
