I view this profession as an art and count on the following attributes as my medium: a very good knowledge of Spanish; an excellent understanding of English; an exceptional familiarity with science an technology; a deep comprehension of the etymological and idiomatic correlates between the two languages; and a finely tuned sense of when to use a literal translation and when to paraphrase, so as to assure true rather than spurious equivalents between the two texts.
