Communication solves problems and I’ve focused most of my career by doing it through writing. Help guides, “how-to” blog posts, damage control emails, social media – I love clarifying things and turning a bad situation into an opportunity.

More recently I’ve also been able to focus on user experience design, which is just another way of communicating, but with less dependence on the words.

You know when you’re trying to order something online and you keep getting an error message? Or what about when you lose an entire email because you accidentally clicked something? Those awkward moments could have been avoided just by putting more thought into the design of the form or the email software.

I want to live in a world where awkward moments like those don't exist and I'm doing my tiny part to make it happen…

… and if they do happen, I usually have the words to smooth it over.
