Mara Kardas-Nelson

I write about health, environment, development, social justice, movements, and change. My award-winning work has been featured in The Nation, Al Jazeera, the Mail & Guardian, Bloomberg News, AlterNet, TruthOut, rabble.ca, the Globe & Mail, and several health and development publications. I'm intensely interested in the world around me, the people that I meet, the way we all interact with each other, and how things--technology, science, societies, culture--work. I interrogate so that I can learn more, and learn better. I don't believe in a single answer; I think the less certain you are, the more you really know. In addition to producing high-quality journalism that is centered on in-depth research, on-point accuracy, and great writing, I strive for nuance above all else.
