Marc has a passion for utilizing communication and outreach efforts towards eliminating health disparities for undepresented health populations.
Marc is a recent graduate from the University of Maryland, with Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication studies. At the University of Maryland, he studied the processes of human communication. These studies consisted of a variety of topics such as, face-to-face conversation, community outreach, human behavior, cultural norms, persuasion, and how to optimize social media.
To complement his field of Communication studies, Marc also took several Health courses, creating a focus of Health Communication. Within the focus of Health Communication, Marc applies learned Communication study skills such as, persuasion, negotiation and community outreach within the Health arena.
Currently, Marc is a fully funded research fellow at the University of Pittsburgh for the School of Information Science’s i3 research program. As a member of the 2014 i3 cohort, Marc will be conducting a year long group-research project on how TeleHealth can improve the nonverbal communication between individuals with Autism and their caregivers.
