Marcel Bakker started out as photographer for the Napa Register and Pacific Union College in California. After studying Anthropology in Amsterdam and being editor-in-chief of the faculty magazine Cul!, he became photo-editor for Amnesty International, Associated Press, the experimental soccer glossy JOHAN magazine and Intermediair. Marcel Bakker pursued his career as an independent photographer concentrating on portrait and reportage photography and takes commissions from a wide range of clients worldwide. He can create powerful authentic portraits as well as light playful unposed images. Marcel still uses analogue techniques, mainly for personal projects (see Sax), next to digital (medium) formats for commissions.
