Hey there, I’m a German photographer running studios in Berlin & Cologne specializing in headshot and portrait work. Photography has literally been a crazy journey for me so let me give you a rough idea of the round about way I picked up a camera…

After getting my German university admission in 2006 I hadn't a clue as to what I was going to do with myself. Math was always my strength at school so I began my studies in electrical engineering but I quickly realized I had no interest in it at all so I left before I even finished my first year.

My brother in law was running two nightclubs at the time and the sudden realization of rent made me pick up a job at one of his clubs in Cologne. I worked there as a barkeeper for several years before I decided to finally start on my own.

At this Point in my life I had never picked up a camera but looking for new ways to make a living I stumbled across photography and, not least due to the lack of alternatives I guess, it seemed like a worthwhile path to pursue. I looked around and with the massive amount of online information on the topic of photography decided to go all-in and become a professional photographer. (I still didn’t have a camera at the time, so in hindsight not an overly reasonable decision I guess).

Nevertheless I began studying, experimenting and taking pictures on my own and I haven’t stopped since. In 2010 I started assisting for the German advertising photographer Bernd Maier who was looking for a full time assistant at the time. They say you can’t buy experience and looking back at my first years I couldn’t agree more. I learned crazy during my time as a photo assistant, both in studio and on location in Turkey, Italy, France and New York over a two year period. The assisting eventually led to managing the studio for two more years before I started my own business.

Having a studio at my disposal across the years I shot as much people as I could get in front of my camera, mostly model/actor friends who needed a headshot. Those pictures ended up in their portfolios and created the outset of my new career. I focused mainly on headshot and portrait photography and since then my work has led me into more advertising and corporate work as well.
