Heritage, Research & Communications Professional

I am a heritage professional with senior leadership experience spanning communications, research, science, technology and complex international organisations. Following a 30-year career in senior communications and strategic roles, I am now focused on the heritage sector, supported by an MA in Heritage Management from Queen Mary University of London and practical experience with Historic Royal Palaces, Old Royal Naval College and the National Trust.

My heritage experience includes visitor engagement, collections care, object recording, archival digitisation, interpretation and heritage science communication. At Historic Royal Palaces, I have worked across major historic sites including the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace and Kensington Palace, while also supporting the heritage science team to translate complex conservation research into accessible content for public and internal audiences. I also volunteer with the National Trust, supporting collections care, archival material and visitor engagement.

Alongside my heritage experience, I bring extensive senior-level experience of strategic communications, organisational change, stakeholder engagement and programme leadership across international organisations. My PhD in Engineering and earlier career in scientific, engineering and technology environments give me particular strength in understanding complex research and specialist knowledge and communicating it clearly to different audiences.

I am particularly interested in the role that museums, archives and heritage organisations play in research, knowledge, access and public engagement, and in making collections and specialist knowledge more accessible to diverse audiences.
