Marcella Yakalis

I grew up in Northern New York, just shy of the Canadian border. I graduated with an English Writing Arts degree from SUNY Plattsburgh in the spring of 2013 and I'm currently attending Columbia University's School of The Arts for non-fiction writing. When I'm not failing at navigating the subway, or knocking things over in coffee shops, I'm tutoring undergrads and catalouging records in Butler library. I'm currently working on my first memoir about my experiences working in my local Walmart for three years, and in-between I'm writing lots of family essays and the occasional poem. I spend a lot of time trying not to fall down.
