Hi, I'm Marcello Majonchi, and my day job is Chief Product Officer at Arduino, the place where brilliant ideas meet open-source hardware and software. Basically, I help make sure anyone can build the future, one inventive project at a time.
For the past two decades, I've been the person who turns those napkin-sketch ideas into successful, market-shaking products. Whether it’s wrangling embedded systems, put AI in the cloud or at the edge, unifying hardware and software experiences, or designing for billions of transactions, I've been there, built that, and scaled it.
My specialty? Translating the deeply complex world of tech into solutions that users actually love, the business actually profits from, and (most importantly) that actually work. Think of me as the product whisperer who also knows how to keep the lights on and the growth chart pointing up.
I've built and led teams from 1 to massive cross-functional organizations (100+ strong, across product, engineering, data science, design... the whole gang), and managed P&Ls large enough to fund a small space program (up to $250M ARR with growth rates hitting 60% YoY).
Years ago I led a product pivot in a teeny tiny startup, Solair, and launched an industry-leading SaaS platform. It was such a hit that Microsoft decided to buy the whole thing. A decade later, I was given the keys of product strategy and innovation for Arduino, a scale-up running the largest open source embedded community in the world: one thing led to another, and Arduino is now a Qualcomm company.
Maybe two clues don’t make a case, but I guess they make a track record of building products that are literally acquisition-worthy.
My secret? An unhealthy obsession for analyzing whatever led to failure (or success), choosing people with high-potential and making sure to put them in an environment where mistakes can be made safely, and of course a highly polished crystal ball.
So, if you were looking for someone who can drive innovation, scale a product organization, and deliver serious business value without losing their sense of humor (or their mind), you're in the right place.
In my spare time I try to meddle with the lowest-tech hobbies I can think of, but I try to stay active in the innovation ecosystem, investing in early-stage startups, advising for venture capital firms, and fostering growth between Italy and the United States.
