Special interest in the integration of conservation and sustainable development, with a focus on pastoralist societies. Director of international NGO Plateau Perspectives; Research Associate at Institute of Asian Research in the School of Public Policy and Global Affairs, University of British Columbia; Auditor of accounts and Ombudsperson for the ICCA Consortium; and member of the Advisory Committee for the GCRF-supported Gobi Frameworks project, University of Oxford. Co-founder of the Lapis Guides application for creating personalised digital field guides. Previously, Senior Researcher and Associate Director of the Mountain Societies Research Institute, University of Central Asia.
