Marcia Moreno-Báez
Portsmouth, New Hampshire, United States
I grew up in a small town on the coast of the Gulf of California called Guaymas; that is why I love the ocean. Since I have lived in Sofia, Bulgaria; Hermosillo and Querétaro, Mex.; Tucson, AZ, Del Mar and San Clemente and now I am in the New England area, US. I've worked with so many different people and I am always amazed by the creativity, intelligence, compassion, sense of humor and - some times - stupidity that we are capable of.
I'm passionate about what I do. I studied architecture and natural resources management. I love the idea of finding solutions to sustainability not only in relation to our natural resources but also, in our cities. As a researcher, I am interest on translating practice, knowledge and perception of space through different approaches that allow collaboration and participation of the society. I am a GIS expert but I am also interested in visualization techniques to communicate science. I am good working with multidisciplinary groups of people but more than anything, I love working in a transdisciplinary environment where the knowledge of experts and society (traditional, cultural, etc.) is also integrated.
I enjoy being outside particularly if it involve scuba diving or rock climbing. I also love cooking and eating good food, even more when accompanied by love ones!
