Marcie Phalen

Marcie Phalen is a Registered Nurse (RN) residing in Columbus, Ohio, and holds a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN). She is pursuing her Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Board Certification (PMHNP-BC) as part of her mission to serve better individuals dealing with psychiatric disorders. With a deep commitment to mental health advocacy, Marcie works to improve access to services and to address the stigma that often prevents people from seeking help.

Her upbringing in Bexley, a small and supportive community near Columbus, played a central role in shaping her path. She was raised by two Ph.D. psychologists whose professional lives centered around patient care and mental health support. Their work left a strong impression on Marcie, mainly how they made individuals feel seen, heard, and respected. These values became core to her personal and professional philosophy, guiding her in each career step.

Marcie attended Aspen University in Phoenix, Arizona, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. During her studies, she volunteered in local mental health settings, gaining practical experience and insight into the needs of vulnerable populations. After receiving her degree in 2022, she joined a psychiatric unit at a Columbus hospital. She earned certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), further validating her commitment to excellence in nursing care.

Her nursing career began in 2009 as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with Maxim Staffing, where she primarily worked in hospice care. This early role required clinical skills, emotional resilience, and empathy, qualities she developed and carried forward into each new position. Marcie later served as a nurse at The Woods at Parkside, a facility that provides treatment for individuals with both substance use and mental health challenges. In 2020, she advanced into a supervisory RN/BSN position at Rivervista Health and Wellness, where she continues to evaluate patients, design care plans, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best outcomes.
