A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way. John C. Maxwell Marckenley Fertil went to Miami Dade college where he graduated with an Associates in Arts. When he attended Miami Dade, he became actively involved as Vice President of the Haitian Boukan Club within his first months. Being able to speak little English, he knew that the man who knows the why of living can endure almost any how. During that year he helped prepare the organization for the best to come. The following year, he become the President of this organization. He increased the membership and started a new tutoring program to help the members receive assistance with different classes. In addition, he came up with different ideas for community service to connect with the community. That year was the best year that the organization had ever had. They won the organization of the year along with the presidential volunteer service award which is given by the white house. He also joined the Student government as a senator, a jurisprudence, and a governmental affair officer. After graduating from Miami Dade, he joined the University of Central Florida to become a knight, a fighter, and a motivator. Right away he join Club Kreyol by getting involved in the soiree committee. The next year, he ran to become the Internal Vice President of this organization. Since entering office, he has been working with all his heart and passion. He has helped with the retention of the members and the organizing of study sessions. He has also helped the organization receive funding through SGA. He has planed the Creole Day event, an event that happens to help promote and recognize the creole culture. He is a leader, someone that is responsible, and has a lot of courage to achieve a common goal. He also inspires actions, is optimistic, and has integrity. He is someone that will stand strong even when things don't go as planned. He challenges everyone to do their best. Aside from Club Kreyol, he is also involved in his Student Government Association and a member of the National Society of Black Engineers. Majoring in Mechanical Engineering with a Minor in Legal Studies, he wants to become an attorney where he will be able to advocate for those that don't have a voice.
