My main project is Memo Of The Air: Good Night Radio on KNYO-LP in Fort Bragg, CA. At 9pm every Friday night (California time) I bring to the station all the interesting bits of whatever I've been reading all week, click to connect to the transmitter and start reading aloud. I put the occasional caller on the air, play music for bathroom breaks, and when I run out of material and/or get tired I put on an old-time radio show, clean up my mess, sign off and go home. The show lasts between six and eight hours. I've been doing this every Friday since 1997, starting at KMFB, Mendocino, with a little time away from it starting at the end of 2011 when KMFB was bought up and tragically became a Fox News and automated music station. I tried to get on the countywide public station, but that wasn't happening, so I came to KNYO in November of 2012 and I've been there ever since.
Visit my weblog and, among other things you can do there, hear recordings of my shows: http://MemoOfTheAir.wordpress.com
For my day job(s) I super a retired software engineer's rental units, plumb and wire and roof, build electronic items to order, fix computers, and do sound design and video documentation for local theater companies.
I've been a driller's assistant, a fry cook, a teacher, a newspaper publisher and a television producer, and I've been with Juanita since 1986.
